The long-standing tradition of Carnivals began on the Isle of Wight in 1888, with the very first Ryde Carnival. Since then, numerous towns across the Island have embraced the spitit of Carnival, each hosting their own carnivals, ourselves included.
Entries include royalty floats from around the Island, local community/voluntary/charity groups, emergency services, schools and of course individuals.
Whilst each carnival is its own not-for-profit unincorporated association, we do work together to avoid date conflicts, agree on policies/rules and to address issues each season. Plus of course, we help eachother out where possible.
